This project was undertaken to address existing damp issues and to improve the overall weather resistance of a residential property. The objective was to prevent water ingress, manage moisture effectively, and protect the building structure for long-term performance.
The scope of works included the application of damp-proof coatings to affected internal areas, external brick cleaning to remove contaminants, and sealing of masonry surfaces to prevent moisture penetration. Silicone sealing was also applied around joints, openings, and vulnerable areas to ensure a watertight finish.
All works were completed in accordance with relevant British Standards and manufacturer recommendations, including BS 5250:2021 for moisture management and BS 8102:2022 for protection against water ingress, as well as approved guidance for masonry sealants.
The completed remedial and external sealing works successfully resolved damp-related concerns, enhanced the property’s resistance to moisture, and delivered a durable, long-lasting solution that improved internal conditions and protected the building fabric.
